Сегодня она стала одной из актуальных для русистики, как отечественной, так и зарубежной – изучение обоих потоков русской литературы XX в. как единого художественного феномена, развивавшегося в русле общеевропейского художественного процесса. В контексте поставленной проблемы анализ параллели Герман Гессе – Владимир Набоков – Михаил Булгаков представляет интерес тем больший, что корреляции здесь не столь очевидны и сравнительно мало изучены Sm___NivaZh__Dva___zierkalnykh [2]. До сих пор единственным сравнительно развитым направлением сопоставительно-типологического анализа творчества этих культовых писателей XX в. было выявление перекличек в области гностической проблематики. Началось все с интерпретации романов В. Набокова в духе гностических учений американским исследователем Д. Мойнаганом Sm___MoynahanJ__VladimirNaboko [3]. Затем идея получила развитие в работах С. Давыдова Sm___DavydovS____Tiekstymatrie [4]. Однако в основе этой трактовки лежит неточность перевода: в англоязычной версии романа «Приглашение на казнь» слово «гносеологический» было переведено как «гностический», что и спровоцировало ученых на создание концепции Sm___SkoniechnaiaO__Primiechani [5]. Тем не менее ошибка сформировала достаточно устойчивую традицию: многие авторы и по сей день убеждены, что метафизика не только В. Набокова, но Г. Гессе и М. Булгакова также соотносится с учением гностиков Sm___KrughovoiG__Gnostichieskii [6]. Представляется, однако, что для проведения параллелей между гностицизмом и философско-эстетическим мироощущением исследуемых писателей оснований недостаточно, точнее, они слишком общи.
